A grocer bought 5000 oranges at $ 4000. He sold 4000 of them at $1.2 each. The rest were sold at a discount of 40% on the cost. (a). Find the total amount of money he received. (b). Find the profit percent. ( 必須具備 算式 , 步驟 及 答案 )

(a) The amount of money he recieved: 4000x1.2+ [(1000x1.2)x(1-40%)] =4800+(1200x60%) =4800+720 =5520 (b) Profit percent: 5520-4000/4000 x 100% =1250/4000 x 100% =38%

a) 1.2 x 4000 + (4000 / 5000) x 0.4 x 1000 = 4800 + 320 = 5120 b) [(5120 - 4000) / 4000] x 100% = 28% (profit)
